The story in a few lines.
Martim Silva Cruz is from Boliqueime, in the Algarve. He was born in cardiorespiratory arrest and has cerebral palsy (dystonic tetraparesis). The intensive treatments that give him independence, at Clínica Kinésio in Espinho, cost €6,740 a month and he needs 3 to 4 a year.
To pay for them, the family and the community collect plastic caps, metal caps and cork stoppers. Resialentejo (Dê uma Tampa project, case no. 167) and Amorim weigh what is delivered and pay the clinic directly. No money goes through the family.
